Dance Card: From Waking to Sleeping

With 22 pages in all, this series catalogues rituals occurring on an average day from waking to sleeping. Some of these include things such as making oatmeal, checking email, a studio visit at school, going for a walk, making a fire, and letting the dog out to pee. The pages function simultaneously as signatures, maps, and records of performances. The fundamental thread through all of these is the notion that our habits—mundane, idiosyncratic, elegant, melodramatic, clunky, fast and slow, solitary and shared, repeated over time are a form of vernacular choreography, a set of scores.
